Is the Left/Right division allowing the creation of a Fascist Government?

U.S. News

To be extrapolated:

1.  Billionaires like the Kochs (on the Right) and Soros (on the Left) spend millions of dollars to influence elections.

2.  Citizens United allows them, and foreign entities, to legally do so without disclosure  via Super PACs and shell corporations.

3.  George Bush enacted, and Barack Obama has continued and enhanced the Patriot Act, which among other things makes it legal for any American to be detained without trial or representation indefinitely.  Without evidence.  Sounds a lot like Cold War Russia, doesn't it?

4. Mainstream media is owned by folks like the Kochs and Soros, not to mention a hardline prince of Saudi Arabia.

5. Net neutrality is being challenged by those very same people.

6. Citizens United is being defended by the same.

What happens when you put all of these basic facts together?  Let's do a little extrapolation, shall we?

Mighty billionaires - the heads of industry - can basically buy elections now.  Let's say, for the sake of argument, one of the powerful people named above succeeds in getting his person or people elected.  For the sake of this thought experiment, suppose it's the guy who supports 'the other side' of your political alignment. These elected officials now owe him their office, and they have the ability to control the mainstream media via his connections, to quash independent media (should Net Neutrality be overturned), and 'disappear' anyone who dissents against their agenda.  Doesn't much sound like the "Land of the Free" does it?

It might not be President Obama who abuses this power, but what about the next President?  This issue transcends Left or Right.  Please, stop listening to the false flags and dogma of your party and favorite pundits, and think it through for yourself.

To extrapolate:
1:  to infer (values of a variable in an unobserved interval) from values within an already observed interval

2a :  to project, extend, or expand (known data or experience) into an area not known or experienced so as to arrive at a usually conjectural knowledge of the unknown area <extrapolates present trends to construct an image of the future>

2b :  to predict by projecting past experience or known data <extrapolate public sentiment on one issue from known public reaction on others>

Fascism:

1 often capitalized :  a political philosophy, movement, or regime (as that of the Fascisti) that exalts nation and often race above the individual and that stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, severe economic and social regimentation, and forcible suppression of opposition often a close relationship between business and government.

2:  a tendency toward or actual exercise of strong autocratic or dictatorial control
