Wednesday, February 13....alone in the studio with my thoughts and recording gear...setup a condensor about 6 feet away from my Mesa Boogie, 6 feet in the air. Close mic'd with an sm-57, each mic going to discreet tracks, panned opposite. GIANT sound. Freakin' huge. 222, EP |

Tuesday, February 12...me, Tom, Justin, Tray....Tom laid down thunderous bass tracks for both of the new songs...I love this part...this is when you can start hearing the song take shape. We mic'd Tom's rig with an AKG D112 through a vacuum tube mic-preamp...as always, i tracked without any eq or compression, but add them in the mix. 222, EP |
Drumz...we have DRUMZ

Thursday, February 8th...me, Tray, and Stokes...Kickass....Stokes laid down some seriously kick-ass drum tracks...we started out with a click track, got some good takes down, then, for the helluvit we recorded freeform....the feeling was way better, and when we compared his meter to the click-track recordings, it was almost DEAD ON. Tray laid down rythmn tracks for "Carnivorous" afterward, but it got too late to work on "Monday" We used an SM-57 close-mic on his Marshall, and a small diaphragm condensor back in the room for ambient, going through a tube mic-preamp. Sounds FAT (with a capital PH) Can't wait to record the guitar parts...but bass is next. 222, EP |
